Rename

[edit]

This should be renamed. I don't care what to. When I visited in the mid '70s, I recall it as "The Exhibition of Economic Achievements" (through a filter of Brezhnev-era hype). I really don't care, but VDNKh (Russia) is meaningless and utterly unrecognisable to almost any English language, non-Russian speaker here on en:WP. It's unrecognisable to the level that not only is the name unknown for anyone seeking the exhibition, but to the point that even when looking at this name, they wouldn't recognise what it was. Andy Dingley (talk) 17:49, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. It is known universally within Moscow as VDNKh (vi-den-ha), and is attached to the Metro station of that name. I never would have found this article under any other name-- in fact I never knew what words the acronym represented (nor did the Russians I'd asked). It is no more meaningless to an English speaker than any other anglicized acronym of Russian language words such as KGB.Gradenko (talk) 18:29, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
