Earl (of) Fife

Between 1885 (when he was created Earl of Fife) and 1889 (when he was created Duke of Fife), was he styled "The Earl Fife" or "The Earl of Fife"? "Earl Fife" remained the senior title, of course, but that doesn't always dictate which is used (cf the Earl of Warwick). Proteus (Talk) 14:29, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
