section called Early alpha-beta

[edit]

This article has a section called Early alpha-beta which says nothing about Brudno and is essentially a history of the algorithm. Since this article is a bio and not an article on the algorithm or its history, I suggest merging the section into another article. (Not sure which one, though.) --Jtir 17:19, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The paragraph is a high-level overview and yes, at the moment is out of proportion to the biography. You're welcome to move or copy it. If more information would become available about the subject, this information is useful context in this one to explain why Brudno is "sometimes" credited for alpha-beta. -Susanlesch 17:48, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This link stalls. ISTM that Marsland already establishes notability in this subject area and shows that full credit cannot be assigned to any one individual. --Jtir 12:21, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some English language references for alpha-beta are in place. -Susanlesch 11:17, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Needs a copy edit:
  • Allen Newel1 and Herbert A. Simon who used an "approximation" of alpha-beta about 1958 wrote it "appears to have been reinvented a number of times." - Punctuation
  • Brudno developed the "mathematics/machine interface" for the M-2 computer constructed in 1952 at the Krzhizhanovskii laboratory of the Institute of Energy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. - punctuation + Ceoil 21:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
