[edit]In South-Asia it is still claimed that Radio is a powerful medium and whatever expansion it has achieved is not sufficient. This view point is gathered when signal availability of other channels is abundantly available and it is estimated that the listeners of foreign radio services can be in millions. This is also true for those countries which are directing signal towards this region that their penetration is satisfactory and they get consolation that the target countries are taking necessary steps to counter their influence. This may be not their optimistic goals and they may consider that information flow should be one-sided and if they will not engage then it is possible other will engage their people.
That is why, these countries are beaming programs to this region and :Contributions/134.117.200.232|134.117.200.232]] (talk) 19:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
All India Radio Signature Tune
[edit]Who composed All India Radio Signature Tune which we hear everyday morning when AIR starts its transmission. It is widely believed that well known violin Artist Shri V.G.Jog did that. But it is also in circulation that Walter Kaufmann a Czech Composer who worked for AIR during 1930s had given the original tune which later on was improvised. Please write about the history of All India Radio Signature Tune.

Clean Up
[edit]It is a very notable and important article and it's interesting to see this in this state. It requires clean up. Anybody? It is not written like an advertisement though. I've removed the advert template. Anuandraj (talk) 22:50, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

in this article on All india Radio i would like to make a clarification. the word Akasha Vani was coined not by M.V.Gopala Swamy in Mysore but Sri Rallapally Ananta Krishna Sarma from Mysore. this name was suggested to sri Gopala Swamy by the latter and he adopted it.
