GA concerns
[edit]I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria. Some of my concerns are listed below:
- The lead is quite long, and should probably be trimmed. There are also citations in the lead, which is not necessary per WP:LEADCITE: is all of this information in the body of the article?
- There are uncited passages throughout the article.
Is anyone interested in fixing up this article, or should it go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 02:18, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

The article contains uncited statements, including entire paragraphs. The lead is quite long and should probably be reduced. Z1720 (talk) 23:51, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Synthesis vs Discovery
[edit]The 1938 fission discovery experiment definitely created Neptunium and Plutonium, both from direct deuteron absorption and U238 absorbing neutrons from the fission. Of course they didn't discover and characterize them at that time, but to say that the elements were first synthesized years later is incorrect. Octaazacubane (talk) 16:21, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
