Reverted addition of copyrighted text

[edit]

Thanks, @Lallint:, but we can't just copy and paste text from a copyrighted source. So I have reverted the addition of this text from Emporis. If we paraphrase and cite it, that would be a valuable contribution. PRRfan (talk) 16:20, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for actually being nice about it but it was copied from Wikimapia, which states that all text and images are available under CC BY-SA 3.0, or maybe they copied from Emporium, I don't know Lallint⟫⟫⟫Talk 16:23, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just hoping it's the latter so it's less embarrassing for both of us Lallint⟫⟫⟫Talk 16:25, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Lallint! I'm sure you're right about Wikimapia being CC—but that text is identical (if slightly differently formatted) to text from the building's Emporis page. To be sure, Emporis might have copied it from Wikimapia, but it seems far more likely to have been the other way around. So I think we'd better not just copy-and-paste it. But this is good info; let's just paraphrase it and attribute the facts to the Emporis page. PRRfan (talk) 16:45, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
