Surrender of the division

[edit]

Just been reading a very short history of the UK's 51st Highland Division and read that and I quote, "The battles to cross the Rhine and German plains followed, and at last the ceasefire was agreed. But not for the German 15th Panzer Division. It continued for one more day, so it could surrender to the division which had first defeated it at El Alamein - the 51st Highland." Can anybody confirm this to be the case. Seems interesting and important to know the division fought on for one more day, if true. Please note I saw that the 15th Division, by that time, would have been renamed to whatever it became later. A Taxed Mind (talk) 08:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, if it is sourced. RASAM (talk) 16:24, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting of article into 33 Infantry, 15 Panzer and 15th Panzer Grenadier

[edit]

This article is about the 15th Panzer division, only about 10% relates to the 33rd Infantry division. As these 2 units are distinct and different, this page should be divided into 2 articles. As the 15th Panzer division which is part of the well known Africa Corps, may be of much greater interest to the public, who have probably never heard of the 33rd Infantry division, and are not interested in that unit.
