Requested move 16 March 2021

[edit]

As for the elections it will not be in 2022 as it is known, because the transitional period that began in 2019 was scheduled to end late next year; but after the signing of the Peace Agreement with the armed movements it was agreed that the transitional period will start from the date of signing the agreement. Which was in 2020 to be counted as a new period of 3 years, which means that the elections will be in 2023 I just wanted to notice this point because the name of the article is wrong; and there have been many events that had occurred which I had to draw attention to this problem. Mr. James Dimsey (talk) 23:16, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a source for it being 2023, I am happy to move the article. Number 57 18:35, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the source but it's in Arabic, and I don't know if you're fluent in Arabic or not; because I searched for another source in English and I couldn't find it.[1]

I don't really see anything definitive in that statement. However, if there is no clear date for the election, maybe it is better to move it to Next Sudanese general election instead? Number 57 23:48, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: [1], [2], [3]. 21 months+18 months from 3 October 2020. --Panam2014 (talk) 19:44, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, because I did not reply and I have been really long since you answered my inquire; but for reasons such as studying or being busy with my family. It prevented me from being free most of the time, by referring to the main topic I agree with you about changing article name to the Next Sudanese general election; because it is unknown when these elections will take place and until the date is set. It is wrong to speculate that, in addition to this there are many requirements that have not been fulfilled by the government. Mr. James Dimsey (talk) 19:31, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've moved the article. Cheers, Number 57 20:02, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Informal title change proposal

[edit]

Are there any objections to changing from 2023 Sudanese general election to next Sudanese general election? This would follow the pattern of articles like next Libyan presidential election, next Libyan parliamentary election. Boud (talk) 11:30, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No objections here - I don't think there's any agreement on having them happen in 2023 specifically, and the consensus was already for "next" two years ago. Chaotic Enby (talk) 19:16, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
