Formatting

@Hayden64: do we really have enough candidates to justify that granularity of formatting? Wouldn't disagree with that styling at a later date, but currently we have more section headings than we do candidates which looks a bit excessive. Best, Darren-M talk 22:21, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

@Darren-M: maybe not, but the page looked like an absolute trainwreck before I edited it. Candidates (declared or otherwise) from different parties were lumped into the same categories and for some reason, Newsom's potential candidacy was mixed in with the citations. Hayden64, Could we maybe remove the superfluous 'candidates' section heading? That would cut 3 unnecessary sections out overall which would help slightly.

I wonder whether a table would be a better wholesale change though? Could have columns of Name, affiliation, occupation, and status which would be cleaner than having many different sections? Would still be ok to have a table each for Dem/Rep/Other I think. Thoughts? Darren-M talk 22:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

hypothetical polling is faulty

Head to head matchups are not hypothetical as long as the two candidates in them have declared their intention to run. Thomascampbell123 (talk) 05:03, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

Tom steyer article is about recall election

Why do the publicly expressed interest, potential, etc. candidates get a candidate summary but declared candidates don't..? Prcc27 (talk) 19:32, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Needs a major update

The filing deadline was March 11, 2022. So, all candidates are either in or out, formally. No need to talk anymore about who has "declared" or been "discussed". Karichisholm (talk) 23:30, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Another candidate to challenge Newsom

On March 11, 2022, Michael Shellenberger filed papers to run for Governor. "In an exclusive interview 3-10-2022 with Inside California Politics co-host Nikki Laurenzo, the 50-year-old Bay Area resident said he will run as an Independent challenging Gov. Gavin Newsom." No mention of Cox?
