Most years, the number of redlinks on the draft list gets questioned, and often the redlinks are removed. I think that redlinks are a very good thing, as they allow the easy identification of when new articles, either visually, as the links turn blue, or by using the "Related changes" feature - Special:RecentChangesLinked/2010_AFL_Draft becomes a very useful page to bookmark to track article creation at first (and you can then check them for references, notability, style etc) and then vandalism patrol once the articles exist. So please leave them in place. Thanks.The-Pope (talk) 10:55, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Redlinks should be used when there is a strong possibility that a person will become notable in the future, and thus will have an article created. They are useful in this case because most of the players who are drafted will have an article created at some point in the future as they begin to play footy. Disambiguations to club pages?

[edit]

What was the point in disambiguating quite a few player pages to the clubs they are at? It would be better to just leave the article uncreated or to actual make a page for that player. !Bozzio (talk) 13:45, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are redirects, not dabs, but the idea is that the players are not notable enough for a stand alone article but a redirect to a list of players which has some info on the player (rather than just the team page) is my preferrence.The-Pope (talk) 15:24, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
