* I'm removing the assertion that the book sold well and reached #1 in Amazon's sports category. The "Roddick" book currently has a very low Amazon sales rating - 600,770 - and the second claim may be true but I don't know how to verify it and there is no citation provided. * It's worse than it looks. It's downright dishonest. It says that the WSJ, Wash Post and NYT praised his "Andy Roddick Beat me with a Frying Pan". That's not true. The WSJ excerpted it, the Wash Post ridiculed it for having a dishonest title and the Intl. Herald Tribune (part of NYT) article opened by affirming that "George Plimpton need not be restless in his grave. His successor as the man who could transform participatory sports journalism into literature is definitely not Todd Gallagher." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ganacka (talk • contribs) 19:28, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

* This is a travesty. It has PR written all over it. I suspect that Gallagher wrote it himself based on the writing style. I am going to edit it extensively and remove some of the unsubstantiated claims and glowing remarks. Aug 30 2010

Currently this is documented by a note at the end of an article written by Gallagher. I'd like to have documentation of which team, where, and for how long; as given, the claim is impossible to verify or refute. I'm deleting this because the note at the bottom of the article which is provided as a citation was almost certainly written by Gallagher himself. Journalists write their own two-bios at the end of their articles. (Ganacka (talk) 18:59, 30 August 2010 (UTC))

"Youngest coach" claim

Currently this is documented by a note at the end of an article written by Gallagher. I'd like to have documentation of which team, where, and for how long; as given, the claim is impossible to verify or refute. Anyone? --Alvestrand (talk) 22:29, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shaq Vs. Controversy

The original article says this:

The Washington Post has pointed out similarities to the ABC show Shaq Vs. and Gallagher's book saying the book and the show have "precisely the same premise" and are that a TV show based on the book Gallagher was trying to sell was "the exact same show."[26] http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2009/07/shaq_denied_entrance_by_the_wh.html

This is accurate but it was not a controversy. It was just a parenthetical statement in a Washington Post article that wasn't about Gallagher or his book. It might have justifiably upset Gallagher but I don't think it belongs in his Wikipedia bio. (Ganacka (talk) 19:39, 30 August 2010 (UTC))[reply]
