Michael told me when I went to visit him just before he died that he had self admitted |

himself into the Hudson Mohawk Recovery Center in Troy, NY on 16 1st Street. I was living at the time on 5th street. We had been talking about Troy and he said he knew the city well due to having been in recovery for his cocaine addition there at the Hudson Mohawk Recovery Center. Stephen was living with Michael in Cairo, NY at the end of Micheal's life. I went to the house. Stephen(last name?) has a nickname that is rather insulting so I never remembered it.Anyway, Stephen knows about the Drug Treatment program that Michel went into. Later when I was in Troy, I visited the center and I mentioned to the person behind the desk Micheal's name. She was not allowed to give out information on whether someone had been there or not but she did wink at me as (I thought) a confirmation of sorts. The two of them had erected many gnomes on the driveway up to the house in Cairo, NY. Michael laughed about the gnomes but he said he thought there were "little ones" in the woods nearby that were visible at time. The house had been GIVEN to them by some guy in Cairo. |

Stephen lives there now with MickPeter who is Michael s son by one of the women who had his children. |

I have two photos I took of Michael at that visit. He is stoic and yet wistful in them. The pain in his abdomen was excruciating for sure in the last stages. I brushed his hair in the bathroom before he and Stephen and some woman from Oregon (who was an ex member)went out in the car to see about getting his music CD printed out or what ever ...one last time. Michael wore his black leather pants. |

He sat in the back. He made sure the peacocks were caged before he left and they all drove away. I remained on the front lawn with a huge clump of Micheal's hair in my hand from where it had been brushed. (I had brushed it gently because I had seen the hair falling out.)I let the hair blow across the lawn, made sure the front door was locked, and i drove away. That was the last time I saw Michael. |

If you want to visit the house...it is in Cairo, NY. I just went to the Post Office and asked directions to Michael Rapunzel's house where the gnomes were. Stephen is still there I'll bet. |

Michael and I did have some private person moments on his bed in the separate wing where he told me some personal stuff. I was never a member. I did marry Peter Harris and have a child with Peter.
