System magazine is a biannual publication geared toward insiders of the fashion industry. The magazine offers long-format conversations with relevant individuals within the fashion industry, accompanied by portfolios created by image-makers. (System was earlier the name of a successful American magazine, "the magazine of business," introduced by A.W. Shaw in 1900.)
Publishing Company
[edit]System was initially published by Tartan Publishing, until Enlightened Publishers bought the publication in 2020. System continued to evolve as an influential media brand, including the launch of another biannual sister publication 'System Beauty' in 2022. In 2024, Enlightened Publishers was placed into liquidation,[2] and three of System's founders, Elizabeth von Guttman, Jonathan Wingfield and Thomas Lenthal, reacquired the title. Von Guttman, Wingfield and Lenthal said they “look forward to taking System into its next era with renewed energy, integrity and innovation — across the title’s digital platforms, expanding print editions and events.”[3]
Editorial board
