Standlake is an Oxfordshire village situated approximately 5 miles (8 km) south of the market town of Witney and 10 miles (16 km) to the west of Oxford. Its principal transport link is the A415. The River Windrush flows through the village, joining the River Thames at Newbridge about 2 miles (3 km) to the south.

In 1998, the population of Standlake was 1249 and today there are approximately 500 dwellings. The village supports a Church of England primary school, currently with about 100 pupils, a Post Office and Stores, two pubs that serve food (The Black Horse and The Bell), and a full service garage. There are numerous small to medium businesses, located both within the village and at two light industrial parks.

Standlake is home to Standlake Arena, a short oval racing circuit often used for stock and banger car racing throughout the year. Standlake Arena holds the record for the largest ever banger racing meeting in the UK.

Standlake is surrounded by many lakes formed by the commercial extraction of gravel. Many are stocked with fish and popular with anglers; others are used for aquatic sports such as windsurfing.

Standlake was hit by flooding in summer 2007.
