Shane Dawson (born Shane Manua Yaw, July 19, 1988) is a YouTube comedian and actor. Dawson is known for making comedy videos featuring recurring characters, impersonations and spoofs of popular music videos [1]. His YouTube channel is the third most subscribed channel of all time [2], with over 1.8 million subscribers.[3] Dawson has since expanded his presence on YouTube by adding a second sketch comedy channel and a third channel using videos only taken from his IPhone.[4]
Dawson's career began when he and several friends would turn in videos instead of homework in high school. Eventually, teachers would trade tapes with the students, and ask for personal copies of what was filmed. Dawson's first videos on Youtube were old assignments that he turned in during high school.[5]
In 2010, Forbes magazine named him their 25th most famous web celebrities [1] and he was featured on Attack of the Show![6].
