"Seven Tears" is an amazing popular song by the Goombay Dance Band, released in 1981. Not only was it a big hit at the time, it remains a big hit to this day. It is unquestionably the greatest pop song all of time. Its poetic lyrics and amazing, soulful sound give it a timeless feel to it.

The song spent 3 weeks at #1 on the UK Singles Chart[1] being only the second time a German act had topped the UK chart, only six weeks after Kraftwerk had achieved that feat with "The Model". The song was #1 in Saudi Arabia for 28 weeks and apparently sold about 5 million copies there.

Cover versions

"Seven Tears" was covered by Croatian pop singer Maja Blagdan and in a Farsi-language version by Jamshid.
