Second Baptist School is a private primary and secondary school in the Memorial area of Houston, Texas, United States.
SBS is a Christian collegiate community, serving approximately 1,000 students from PK – 12. As a self-supporting agency of the Second Baptist Church of Houston, the school enjoys the use of nearly 1,000,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of educational and recreational facilities on a 42 acre, Memorial area campus.
The School Mascot is the Eagle.
History and Founding
In 1946-47, a group of dedicated Houstonians combined their talents and resources to establish a unique elementary school. The purpose of founding the school was to provide a place of learning where students would grow academically, spiritually, physically, and socially. On February 3, 1947, Second Baptist School opened its doors to 14 kindergarten students.
In 1974, the Middle School began with 6th grade and each year another grade was added to complete the middle school level. In 1979, the Upper School began with the 10th grade and by 1982, the school provided an instructional curriculum of grades pre-kindergarten through twelve.

The school competes in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, swimming, volleyball, track, cross country, and softball.
Second Baptist School has multiple state titles in: football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, swimming, tennis, and track.
