==Marvel==

In April 1996 Marvel comics release Resident Evil #1 a free comic, thanks to a Capcom giveaway when the first game was released. Based on the game by Capcom, with art from Bill Sienkiwicz on the cover.

In 1998 Image began publication of a monthly comic book series based on the first two games titled Resident Evil: The Official Comic Magazine, which lasted five issues. Issues one through four were done by image with issue five being done by Wildstorm. Each issue was a compilation of short stories that were both adaptations of events from the games (alluded and depicted), as well as related side-stories. Like the Perry novels, the comics also explored events occurring beyond Resident Evil 2 (the latest game during the series' publication) and thus were contradicted by later games.

==Wildstorm==

Wildstorm also published a four-issue mini-series titled Resident Evil: Fire & Ice, which depicted the ordeal of Charlie Team, a third S.T.A.R.S. team appearing only in the comic. This series has been collected into one tradepaper back in April 2009.

There has also been a few officially licensed (as well as unlicensed) Biohazard manhua series published in Hong Kong. One of these comics, an adaptation of Code: Veronica by Lee Chung Hing, was translated into English and published by Wildstorm.

In 2009 a new comic series will be published called Resident Evil. This series takes place before Resident Evil 5. As a six part mini-series The dedicated agents of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance face off against Virus spreading bio-weapons both in space and on land.

The Joint Nations Space Station has gone offline, BSAA Agent Mina Gere investigates and is confronted by a crew of flesh eating zombies. Veteran mercenary Holiday Sugarman is sent to remote Grezbekistan where his team is wiped out by G-Virus infected militia-men he must face G-Prime - alone. The two agents encounter never before seen biohazards as a new chapter in the Resident Evil saga kicks off.
