The Vacaville Reporter is a newspaper in the city of Vacaville, California. It also covers surrounding Solano County, California, including Fairfield and Dixon. The Rico family, who had owned the paper since 1935, sold the paper to MediaNews Group in 2002.[2]

In 2013, MediaNews Group merged and became Digital First Media which is controlled by Alden Global Capital.[3] Alden has a practice of reducing staff and draining resources from local papers.[4]
