Rafig Alekber (born 25 April 1964, in Yardımlı) has been working in the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than 30 years.

Early life and education

Alekber was born April 25, 1964, in the Alar village in Azerbaijan's Yardımlı district.[1] In 1992,[citation needed] he received an honors diploma from Baku State University's law faculty.[2] In 2019, he was elected an Honorary Doctor by the International Academy of Sciences of the Turkish World Studies for his services to the culture and literature of the Turkic world. He also received the International Gold Star medal of the Academy of Sciences. [citation needed]

Writing career

He began to engage in literary creativity in the 80s of the last century.[citation needed] He has published several books of poetry, including Separated from You, Resentful of You (1999), I Am God's Way (2003), My Soul is Eternal (2005), Love is the Soul of the Heart (2007), Selected Works (2008), Divine Light (2011), Meetings of Wisdom and Love (2015), Irfani aşk (2017), and Face to Face with Savalan (2021). He also published the story "The Soldier Will Not Starve" (2008).[citation needed]

Since 2006, he has been a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union.[1][2] The Republic of Azerbaijan has awarded him various literary prizes, including the Golden Pen, Master Artist, and Araz literary prizes.[citation needed] In 2021, he was selected as an Honorary Intellectual of the Turkish world by the International Academy of Sciences of the Turkish World Studies and was awarded the Atatürk International Award.[citation needed] In 2022, he was selected as the Poet of the Year by the International Academy of Sciences of Turkish World Studies for his book Face to Face with Savalan and was awarded the European Order of Honor for his contributions to world culture and literature.[citation needed]
