Volvarina avenella is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Marginellidae, the margin snails.[1]

Taxonomy

Dall considered Marginella avenella a synonym of Marginella succinea Conrad, 1846 (now considered a synonym of Prunum succineum (Conrad, 1846) ). These are actually two different species. He recognized this mistake afterwards. [2] [3]

Description

This species occurs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Distribution

Volvarina avenella can be found in Caribbean waters, ranging from the Florida Keys to Cuba.[4]
