Question

[edit]

Why is the selected poem section down on the lower right? shouldn't an actual poem be highlighted, fully expanded in the upper left section where "Selected Article" appears??? 07:39, 3 April 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericmachmer (talkcontribs)

because, like so many portals here, this one has been essentially abandoned. it could not possibly qualify now as a featured portal. its so sad that this great idea is so poorly executed, and is the face of WP for so many curious readers. Yes, we could put a featured poem front and center. ive rearranged sections on the portals i watch over many times. its really up to us.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 02:47, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New content

[edit]

I have removed start/c class, and low/mid importance content, replacing it with FA/GA/B and Top/High content. this was a featured portal a long time ago, and without updating its no longer. except i should be able to make it good again. I plan to add DYK, and recognized content sections, and many more articles/bios/images. i may try to add some actual poems. thats a LOT of work to format.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 02:30, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphan

[edit]

This Quantum Sheep article has been marked as an orphan since 2008, can anyone think of a poetry article that could link to it? Cheers, Vrac (talk) 20:44, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Awkward Phrase

[edit]

"differential interpretation to words"...second paragraph, first sentence should be rewritten with a less academic convoluted description — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericmachmer (talkcontribs) 05:33, 22 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject

[edit]

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:42, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removing {{WikiProject Portals|class=FA}}

[edit]

I commented out {{WikiProject Portals|class=FA}} in the talk page headers because it was causing this page to exceed the limits on template expansion and wind up in Category:Pages where template include size is exceeded. Once this issue is resolved, the template should be restored. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:59, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A courteous curtain

[edit]

A courteous curtain Loomed thready with fine silks Scenting of my core Which led linger rose in my mine And with not fleeing ticks But almost ding dong devotes Potent day and night Shrouds, when I come in Sheilds, when I come out For not to street cowslips To steal me from her role Let I vocal vomits vociferously "Am I boastful beaming as her turban? Oh,I love you courteous curtain, For vile of my days"
