Paul attended grammar school at St. Ignatius Convent and at first failed due to his lack of motivation, but soon after entering secondary school his attitude changed and he began to excel. His top marks secured him a spot at both St. Peter’s College, and the University of Auckland where he began a degree in Commerce. Paul did not complete his degree due to several small businesses he started during his freshman year at the University of Auckland<ref name="goodreads1"/>. The pressure he felt from his past led Paul to become a workaholic, he says, "I used to work long hours. I used to work from 6 am to 6 pm, doing anything and working so hard...I thought I had the perfect life. I was the Chairman, CEO, of a multimillion dollar company that was listed on the stock exchange. I had just built, for the people I love most, a grand mansion with 15 bathrooms... I was free as a bird I could fly anywhere, but due to stress and poor lifestyle choices I lost it all" <ref name="blogtalkradio1"/>. |
