Oghi is a town and union council (an administrative subdivision) of Mansehra District in the Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa of Pakistan [1]. It is located in Oghi Tehsil and lies to the north-west of the district capital Mansehra[2].
History
During British Rule it was the chief place of the Agror valley (then part of Hazara District) and served as the headquarters of the Hazara border military police.[3] This Valley is as green you would expect and surrounded by mountains. There is old fort "Qila" which was built in 1865 and currently the head quarter of Frontier Constabularly "FC" Oghi District.
The original name of the place is AGROR which has been replaced by OGHI and the name Oghi is influnced by the town/village OGHI which is pretty close on the eastern side of the main city central"BAAZAR". This town has been owned and controlled by the Khans od Oghi which follow the predecessors of Fakhar-uz-Zaman Khan followed by the current Khan of Oghi known as Wajih-uz-Zaman Khan.
Oghi also has the most expensive properties, with the prices of as high as 320 Million Rupees per Kanal. The most basic reason for that is, the landlords of that area almost never sell their property & keep it for generations. That is not only an outstanding value in the region, but also in the Nation.
People
Main language of the region is gojri .pashto and hindko are also importent languages of the area.
