Nová Ves is a municipality and village in Prague-East District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,500 inhabitants.
Etymology
[edit]The name means "new village".
Geography
[edit]Nová Ves is located about 12 kilometres (7 mi) north of Prague. It lies in a flat agricultural landscape in the Central Elbe Table. The brook Zlonínský potok flows through the municipality.
History
[edit]The first written mention of Nová Ves is from 1455. Between 1960 and 1990, it was a part of Čakovičky. Since 1990, it has been an independent municipality again.[2]
