==Controversy==
While Northbrook technology has been labeled one of the most attractive companys in regards to software testing. They have suffered greatly in the past two years from attrition, and newer companys moving to Belfast. Such competitors such as Citibank, and Relay Technologys. Northbrook does indeed boast large pay-scale increases, however their base salary for Testers starts at a mere £13,000 per a year, which increases by 2,000 after the first year. Other companys in the same Field of Expertise normally start their Tester Scales at £20,000 per year.

In order to 'soften' the blow from Promotion pay increases, their company e-mails often include a paragraph of the attractive benefits an employee of Northbrook gains from affiliation. These include, Dental cover up to £1,000, Eye-Care, Company Massage & Reflexology, Sports & Social Employee Group.

The latest communications to employees about this matter was in February 2008, and stated that in order to 'reward' people who had harder tasks, opposed to length of service, they were removing the 'Cap Bonus' from Tester Pay-Rises. (£200 for an entry level tester) Two weeks later, further communication from management informed people that their attractive 'Christmas-Performance Bonus' would be reduced in accordance to their sick-leave.

If an employee is off sick for more than three occurances per year, they loose 25%, if they are sick more than 5 occurances they loose 50%, if they have 7 occurances of sick-leave, they loose 100% of their Bonus.
