North Posey Senior High School is a public high school in Poseyville, Indiana. North Posey was established in 1959 when the four separate schools of Poseyville, Cynthiana, Wadesville and Griffin consolidated. North Posey is the high school for the Metropolitan School District of North Posey County, which includes Bethel, Robb, Smith, Center and Robinson Townships in Posey County, Indiana.

North Posey Junior High

  • We at North Posey Junior High School believe that “Learning Comes First.” We are dedicated to providing curriculum which is individually challenging and to creating an atmosphere which is safe and caring. Parents, staff, and students assume joint responsibility for the educational process. Our overall goal is to help our students develop into educated, responsible citizens.

Student Body

In 2006-2007 enrollment was 540 students. The student body at North Posey is 99% white. In 2005 North Posey graduated 95% of seniors and 81% of seniors went on to college.

Athletics

Teams

North Posey's athletic teams are nicknamed the Vikings and the school's colors are Red and Black. The Vikings compete in the Pocket Athletic Conference. North Posey teams compete in baseball, boys and girls basketball, cross country, football, golf, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. In 2005, the football team made history by reaching state finals, which it lost. The team has not made it past sectionals since.

School Song

North Posey's school song is titled "Go Ye North Posey" and is played to the tune of "Go U Northwestern".
