Monkee is an underground club night based in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire and was the brainchild of Chris Lawes (DJ Anti-Chris) and was first launched at Keele University in September 2000 with the help of Bobby Danavan (Bobby De Zero) and S5. In 2001 Monkee was joined by Glenn Moloney (DJ Supafly TNT) as resident DJ and promoter.

Monkee's style of music which comprised mainly of techno and house in the early years was simply down to the styles played by the resident DJs. As time went on Monkee became renowned for it's diversity and incorporated Drum n Bass, Hip-Hop and live bands playing a wide range of music.

Monkee continued at Keele for a short time before finding it's new home at the Talbot in Stoke. This 'rock pub' venue was ideal for Monkee as a 'no frills' venue and became to be loved by the hundreds of people who attended Monkee each month.

Monkee is now at 1500 capacity venue 'Zen' nightclub in Hanley in Staffordshire and 'Monkee Netherlands' will be launched in quarter two in 2008.
