Expansion

[edit]

I love the idea of a southern Quebec map, since there's so much wasted space in including the north.

However, would it be possible to expand it to include Val d'Or, Saguenay, and Rimouski (maybe even Gaspé)? This would capture more of Quebec's densely populated areas and allow for a better scope for those not in the core region. - Sweet Nightmares 15:47, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Up to Val-d'Or and Gaspé? That's almost half the province. Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of this map? Because I made this map to provide more detail for the heart of Quebec, the most densely populated part of Quebec. -- P 1 9 9   16:02, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And I appreciate the work. It was just a suggestion. Here's about what I think of when I envisage southern Quebec. Saguenay especially deserves to be included. I don't know what good a detail version of a political map would provide, especially with unlabeled administrative regions, and if users want precision they can check the coordinates. - Sweet Nightmares 17:10, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

With respect, Saguenay is not what I would call southern Quebec (which, in my mind, is more like the Saint Lawrence River valley between the Ontario border and Charlevoix). frwiki developed smaller scale location maps for Montreal, Trois-Rivières and Rimouski. I'm pretty sure other maps could be added for places such as Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Sherbrooke, Quebec City and the Outaouais/Southwestern Laurentides regions, if requested. • Hi, sorry I'm late! Just letting everyone involved know about the five template pushpin maps that I have created (with technical assistance from User:P199 (thanks man). The new maps created for input in Quebec city, municipality, parish, township, village, and unorganized territories are as follows: Canada Southern Quebec (new version), Canada western Quebec, Canada Central Quebec, Canada Eastern Quebec, Canada Lac-Saint-Jean, and Canada Cote-Nord Quebec. I welcome all comments and suggestions. Thanks! Gordalmighty (talk) 20:50, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
