Md Asaduzzaman is a Bangladeshi lawyer who is currently serving as 17th Attorney General of Bangladesh.[1] Prior to join as AG, he was a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court.[2] He has been appointed as the Attorney General of Bangladesh on August 8, 2024. President Md. Shahabuddin appointed him to this position.[3][4]
Career
[edit]Asaduzzaman previously served as a junior to the prominent lawyer Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed and was also the Human Rights Affairs Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee and an advisor to the party's Chairperson Khaleda Zia.[5]
Former Attorney General AM Amin Uddin resigned citing personal difficulties, and subsequently, Md. Asaduzzaman was appointed to the position.[6]
Md. Asaduzzaman's career includes participation in various significant cases in higher courts and solving complex legal issues.[7]
This appointment is expected to bring new directions in the country's legal framework and aid in providing legal support to various government activities.[8]
