Template:Infobox Newport electoral ward Marshfield (Welsh: Maerun) is an electoral ward and smaller village community and parish on the fringe of the city of Cardiff in South Wales.
It is considered to be an affluent and sought-after area. BLOOOOOOARMYYYY
Boundaries & amenities
The ward is bounded by the city boundary to the west, the Bristol Channel to the south, the mouth of the River Usk to the east, Graig ward to the north and the Pillgwenlly, Tredegar Park and Gaer wards to the north east.
The M4 motorway runs through the ward and is home to the UK Patent Office and Office for National Statistics.
There are 7 return bus journeys to Newport and 5 return journeys to Cardiff Mondays to Saturdays.
The ward contains the parishes of Coedkernew, Michaelston-y-Fedw and Wentloog, as well as the parish of Marshfield (population 2,636[1]). The parish church is St. Mary's [1] and [2]. The parish itself is bounded [3] by the city boundary to the west, the A48(M) motorway to the north and Great Western Main Line to the south. The eastern boundary with Coedkernew is formed by the Nant y Selsig or "Sausage Brook".
Sporting traditions
Marshfield is also home to Marshfield A.F.C., a football team who will play in the Gwent County League Division 3 for the 2010-11 season after finishing as Champions of the Newport and District Football League 'Premier X' division in each of the previous two seasons. The Marshfield A.F.C. second team play in the Newport and District Football League 'Premier Y' division.
Over the years it has also been home to numerous Cardiff City F.C. players, including Paul Parry and Roger Johnson , Professional Boxer Steve Robinson and Olympic Athlete Jamie Baulch. Also living in the area are local celebrity and Rat look a like Oliver Clifford famous for swinging naked from trees and having skin like the Tinman. Another Marshfield icon is Michael Perry. You will often find him outside schools chatting up 12 yearolds asking them if they want a lift in an Audi TT or to sample his chinese delights. Marshfield also is home to Kebab King Omar Delamie who you can find cutting the finest meat in Cardiff, but dont knock his truban he is small like a monkey. Gavin Glover a part time Harry Hill, Howard Webb and Grant Mitchell look a like also resides in Marshfield. You can find him doing his Meter man runs for Swalec throught Cardiff and Surrounding Areas. Marshfield is also home to the worlds fattest homosexual, Laurence Cull. He is usually found eating and kissing men. Kyle smith has made Marshfield famous as he is the only man never to speak..EVER. Alex Dring is also from Marshfield he often dresses up as Batman and fights for Fathers for Justice...He also looks like a thumb. Craig Andrews a man from Marshfeild has been found biting other humans with his sharp fang like teeth.
All in all Marshfield is a place for weirdos and reprobates.
