==Manish's Career == |
Manish’s career graph has been interestingly unusual. Manish graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Agnel Technical College (Bandra, Mumbai) in 1994 and worked in an Equipment Manufacturing Company as a shopfloor Engineer. After giving six years of his life to the field of Mechanical Engineering, Manish got his calling and decided to pursue his creative instincts. Manish switched professions by joining an Ad agency as copywriter and began writing TV & radio commercials. |
It was during this short stint in advertising that Manish saw Ram Gopal Varma’s film [[Company]] based on the Mumbai underworld. The film influenced Manish to such an extent that it changed the course of his life. He gave up a lucrative career in advertising and began approaching Varma with his scripts. Manish’s conviction soon bore fruit and Varma took him under his wing. Impressed with his work in [[Sarkar]], Varma asked Manish to script 3 other films namely [[D]] (2005), [[James]] (2005), [[Darna Zaroori Hai]] (2006). |
Manish’s first brush with direction came wirh [[Darna Zaroori Hai]]. Manish directed one story of this film, which had six separate stories and six separate directors for each story. But things went sour between Manish and his mentor Ram Gopal Varma when Varma turned down Manish’s script for the sequel to [[Sarkar]], [[Sarkar Raj]]. Manish went on to become an independent director with [[The Stoneman Murders]]. The film released on 13th February 2009. |
