Maci Bookout (born August 10, 1991) appeared in two MTV reality TV series, the shows 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom. These hit TV shows are showing the lives of teen moms; good and bad times. Maci Bookout is learning the ropes of becoming a mother. Bookout is also learning on how to be independent.
Teen Pregnancy
Teenage Pregnancy rates in the United States are still twice as high as in other industrialized countries. Some teens benefit from early parenthood. Research shows that teenage mothers tend to earn more over their lifetimes and have steadier employment histories, than similarly disadvantaged women who delay childbearing until they're twenty or older. Legal Troubles
On October 28, 2010 Bookout was filming for Teen Mom at Chattanooga State, when filming was completed she got into her car and rear-ended another vehicle. After posing for pictures with some students, and consulting with producers what to do Bookout left the seen. Now being classified as a hit-and-run the college has published the story in their newspaper, The Communicator. The video of the accident aftermath can be seen on YouTube. [2][3]
Reality TV
16 and Pregnant
Maci appeared on the series premiere of 16 and Pregnant in 2009. The hour long episode showed the birth of son Bentley Cadance, and the struggles of her relationship with then fiancee Ryan Edwards.
Teen Mom
Maci then appeared on both seasons of Teen Mom. The show has become an instant hit on MTV with ratings rivaling Jersey Shore. The show follows Bookout through her first and second year of motherhood. Events on the show include her troubles with school, her relationship with Ryan, the growing of Bentley, moving to Nashville, and the new found interest in now boyfriend Kyle King.
