Kerala Anamudi Anamalai Hills section of the Western Ghats 2,695 8,842 10°10′12″N 77°03′40″E / 10.170°N 77.061°E / 10.170; 77.061 Anamudi is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and highest in India outside the Himalayas.[7]
Tamil Nadu Doddabetta Nilgiri Hills section of the Western Ghats 2,636 8,648 11°24′04″N 76°44′10″E / 11.401°N 76.736°E / 11.401; 76.736 Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Mountains. It is located in Udagamandalam, Nilgiri District.[8]

The highest peak claimed by India as part of Ladakh is K2 which has the elevation of 8,611 m (28,251 ft). K2 is located in the Pakistan-administered territory of Gilgit-Baltistan.[31][32][33]
