Leonard Carl Grant (born June 25, 1980), better known by his stage name Uncle Murda, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He signed to 50 Cent's G-Unit Records in 2016, having previously signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records in 2007.[2][3][4]
Career
[edit]On 2007, Uncle Murda's signed to Jay-Z's record label Roc-A-Fella Records but was eventually released from the label. On November 8, 2016, Uncle Murda signed a deal with 50 Cent and G-Unit Records. [5] [6] This came as a shock to many fans because Uncle Murda disrespected 50 Cent's Street Credibility on his tracks such as "Uncle Murda - Got Yourself A Gun Freestyle". However 50 Cent understood this was Uncle Murda's way of becoming one of the best-selling Gangster Rappers like 50 Cent is, because 50 Cent came up dissing the biggest rappers at the time on the track "50 Cent Ft. Madd Rapper - How To Rob".
Yearly Rap Ups
[edit]Uncle Murda at least once a year (sometimes there are different parts for a year) makes a track and records a video rapping about popular urban and political events. Uncle Murda has amassed a lot of controversy and enemies from making these Yearly Raps because of how disrespectful he is when rapping about the events. [7][8]
