Career

[edit]

Born in Lagos,[2] Adedoyin began his career with Everton at the age of 10, and moved on loan to Hamilton Academical in July 2019.[3][4] He returned to Everton in January 2020.[5] On 25 June 2020, it was announced that he would leave the club when his contract expired on 30 June 2020.[6]

In September 2020 he signed for Sheffield Wednesday following a trial period.[7][8] He suffered a hamstring injury during his first season.[9] He made his senior debut against Newcastle United U21 in the EFL Trophy on 31 August 2021, coming on as a second half substitute to replace Sylla Sow.[10][11]

On 1 February 2022, it was confirmed that Adedoyin had joined Accrington Stanley on a permanent deal.[12][13] He was released by the club at the end of the 2023–24 season.[14]

On 17 October 2024, David joined Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers on a short-term deal until January 2025.[15][16]

Personal life

[edit]

In summer 2024, following the death of his grandfather, Adedoyin changed his surname to his grandfather's first name David.[17]
