The Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park is a public park located close in Ikeja, Lagos. The park which was commissioned by the Lagos State Governor in December 2017, is a recreational space located within the proximity of The Office of the Governor, the Lagos State House of Assembly and the State Secretariat.[1][2][3] The park is usually very busy during festive periods, but on a normal work day and during the weekends, residents and mostly workers within the environment visit the park to relax and recreate.[citation needed]

Spanning approximately 21,800 square meters (about 2.5 hectares), the park offers several attractions and facilities for visitors of all ages.[4] Notable features of the park include beautifully landscaped gardens, an aviary housing various species of birds, and a gigantic chessboard, providing a fun and interactive experience for chess enthusiasts. The park also displays flags of all African countries, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the continent. Its well-manicured lawns and shaded areas make it ideal for picnics, social gatherings, and photography, with plenty of scenic spots that attract photography enthusiasts.[5]
