John T. Baker Middle School, or Baker, is a middle school located at 25400 Oak Drive in Damascus, Maryland in Montgomery County, Maryland. Originally it was called John T. Baker Junior High.

Going into the 2009-2010 school year, the school principal is Ms. Louise Worthington with Assistant principal,Mrs. Lupia and Assistant School Administrator, Steve Asbacher.

Originally its feeder elementary schools were Cedar Grove, Clarksburg, Woodfield, and Damascus - now its feeder elementary schools are Clearspring, Woodfield, and Damascus. Baker Middle School feeds its students into Damascus High School

Traditions

At the start of every school year, students and staff at Baker Middle School invite members of the Damascus community and surrounding area to celebrate the annual "Flag Raising Ceremony". This event is often greeted with firetrucks and ambulances from the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, and has seen guest speakers such as Montgomery County Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Jerry Weast, and former Montgomery County executive, Doug Duncan. Staff Accomplishments

Baker Middle School Instrumental Music director, Mr. Michael Kamuf, was recently awarded the Montgomery County Public Schools "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award" in June 2007 by school superintendent, Dr. Jerry Weast.
