'''Jelena Tinska''', (born Petrovic Jelena, 25 April 1953 in [[Zemun]], [[Yugoslavia]]) is a [[Serbs|Serbian]] [[film actor|film]] and [[television actress]], novelist, [[ballet dancer]], [[Presenter|TV presenter]] and [[journalist]]. She is also President of Fond "Orion" and "Noeva Barka", an association for [[Cruelty to animals|animal protection]] and well being.

== Background ==

Tinska's father was Aleksandar Petrovic (V), writer, and a renowned Shakespearean translator ("Sladak zivot na srpski nacin").<ref name="danonline"/> Her grandfather was Woislav M. Petrovitch - Late Ataché to the Serbian Royal Legislation to the Court of St. James. She is the mother of Zelda Tinska, an actress, and Yentl Tinska, an artist.

Tinska studied [[classical ballet]] from the age of 5 for 12 years, and graduated from the ballet school "Lujo Davico". Following graduation, she worked as a professional ballet, jazz and contemporary dancer in Yugoslavia in various famous ballet groups; Ivanka Lukateli, Boris Radak, Petar Slaj, and "Lokice", later studying drama at [[University of Arts in Belgrade|The Academy of Dramatic Arts]] in [[Belgrade]] ([[Beograd]]). From 1979, she worked in Belgrade in [[Duško Radović|Theatre Dusko Radovic]], and as an actress. She is fluent in [[English language|English]], [[French language|French]] and [[Serbian language]]s.

In 2003 Tinskas moved from Belgrade to [[Novi Sad]] to work for the private television station [[Pannonia]].<ref name="ВечерњеНовости1"/>
