Jamie Simon Borthwick (born 23 June 1994, Barking) is an award-winning young British actor.

He is most famously known for portraying Jay Brown in EastEnders, though his first appearance on mainstream television was as an orphan in the Celebrate 'Oliver!' musical alongside Shane Richie and Joseph McManners. In late 2006 Jamie had a one-off role in Not Going Out as a chav.

Jamie also appeared in the "Life In The Underpass" episode of Gina's Laughing Gear, and he was signed up to EastEnders shortly after completing filming on this project. His first appearance on EastEnders occurred in December 2006, while the episode of Laughing Gear did not make its TV debut on CBBC until February 2007.

He is a supporter of West Ham United and his other interests include boxing. He had the honour of carrying Kevin Mitchell's championship belt into the ring prior to a bout in July 2007[1].

Jamie won the award for 'Best Dramatic Performance From a Young Actor or Actress' at the 2008 British Soap Awards and dedicated it to his deceased grandmother [2].

Jamie took part in a six week Summer tour of an independent Wrestling promotion Power Trip Wrestling.

He took part in Children In Need 2008 along with the rest of the Eastenders cast.

Jamie currently attends the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.

His parents used to own a pub in Rush Green, until they sold it in 2008[citation needed].

Jamie visited children at Little Havens children’s hospice to present a cheque to help pay for local youngsters’ care. [3].
