Early life and personal information

[edit]

Jack Carr was born into a military family and his mother was a librarian which gave him access to many books. He developed interests in authors such as Tom Clancy, Nelson DeMille and Louis L'Amour. When Carr first learned about the United States Navy SEALs at the age of 7, he decided that that was the career he was going to pursue.[7]

Carr joined the U.S. Navy in 1996. He spent over 20 years in Naval Special Warfare Command.[8][9]

Carr presently lives in Park City, Utah with his wife and children.[10] He also hosts a podcast called "Danger Close."[11]

Writing

[edit]

Carr's debut novel, The Terminal List was published in 2018, and adapted into a television series starring Chris Pratt. The series was released on Amazon Prime Video on July 1, 2022 and was renewed for a second season.[12][13] The second season will be based on the second novel in The Terminal List series, True Believer.[14]

Taylor Kitsch, who appeared in The Terminal List, is also set to star and executive produce in a prequel series called The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.[15]

Carr has recently released his first non-fiction book called "Targeted" which is about the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings. The book uses source material from declassified documents from Ronald Reagan's administration. The book was published on September 26 2024 and it will be first in a new series of books.[7]
