The large circle represents a turntable that is not flat, but that has a parabolic cross section. The black dot represents a puck, moving frictionless over the surface of the concave turntable. The ellipse represents the trajectory of the puck. The rotation of ellips represents that the point of view is a videocamera that is rotating.
