Heidi Watney (born May 19, 1981) is the Boston Red Sox on-field reporter for NESN.[1]
Prior to joining NESN, Watney was a weekend sports anchor for KMPH in Fresno, California.[1] She was also a sports talk radio host for 1430 ESPN Radio KFIG Fresno.
Watney is the cousin of professional golfer Nick Watney, and the daughter of Fresno State golf coach Mike Watney.[2]
Watney has competed in the Miss California pageant, where she was the first runner-up in 2002. She was a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of San Diego on an academic scholarship, where she graduated with honors in 2003.[3]
On June 29, 2008, Watney became the host for The Ultimate Red Sox Show, replacing Hazel Mae.[4] In October 2008, she also became the host of The Red Sox Report.
