This computer is a Hewlett-Packard Designed Product (known as a Pavilion) released in the year 2006 and has a built in web camera and microphone, and speakers that are made by the company Altec Lansing or some models have Harman Kardon speakers. The CPU is a Intel Centrino x86 family single core processor this CPU has Virtual capabilities, so you can run Windows Virtual PC or VirtualBox and has a speed of 1663 MHz published speed. The RAM speed is 512MB with possibility to upgrade to 2 GB. The Hard disk drive size is 298gb. This Pavilion is part of the DV 1000 Series.
DV 1000 Series
The DV 1000 series Contains different models such as the DV 1040 and DV 1658 which have different features for example the DV 1040 contains a Pentium M CPU with a published speed of approximately 1500 MHz, while the DV 1658 has a Centrino with a published speed of 1663 MHz. But one feature you will notice if you use Skype or any other related program is there is no built in web camera or Microphone in the 1040! But one feature it has a remote, this includes all DV 1000.
The Down Side In the DV 1000 series there are complaints such as people report that the computer switches from AC to battery, then later stops acknowledging the power altogether causing it to shutdown. This all happens while plugged in the wall[1].
