The Grand National Tour is an upcoming co-headlining concert tour by American rapper Kendrick Lamar and American singer-songwriter SZA, in support of the former's sixth studio album, GNX (2024). The first all-stadium tour for both artists, it is scheduled to commence on April 19, 2025, in Minneapolis, and will conclude on June 18, 2025, in Landover, Maryland, consisting of 23 shows across the United States and Canada.[1]

Background

[edit]

Kendrick Lamar and SZA are former labelmates from Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE).[2] They have worked together on several musical projects, beginning with SZA's 2014 extended play Z.[3] Among their most popular collaborations is "All the Stars" from Black Panther: The Album (2018),[4] which peaked within the top-ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and earned numerous accolades.[5][6] Lamar and SZA previously toured together with other TDE artists during the Championship Tour,[7] although SZA was pulled from a number of dates due to swollen vocal cords.[8]

After working on two songs from Lamar's sixth studio album GNX (2024), including the U.S. top-ten single "Luther",[9] the duo surprise announced the Grand National Tour.[10] Like its parent album, the tour was named after the 1987 Buick Grand National Experimental.[11] Two pre-sale options were made available on December 4, 2024: one through the tour's sponsor Cash App and the other via Ticketmaster's Official Platinum program.[12] Before the general sale began on December 6, additional dates were added in Los Angeles and Toronto due to high demand.[13]
