'''Giovan Giacomo Della Corna''' (Brescia ca. 1485 - ca. 1560) is important in the history of the violin because he was one of the first makers of the Brescian school. He was the merchant of goods and string and luth maker quoted in 1524, 1534 and 1548 Brescian documents (tax returns) and in the music treatise ''Scintille di Musica'' (1533) by Giovan Maria Lanfranco. He says that ''"Luths, Violones, Lyras and similar, very clear and resonant are constructed by the two Brescians Giovan Giacobo dalla Corna and [[Zanetto Micheli]]"''. Some scholars suppose that he was the son of [[Joan Maria da Bressa]].
