File talk:Weaver rail.jpg
Appearance
This is not a picture of a Weaver mount, but a Picatinny style mount. There are slight differences between the two, specifically, width of the notches (called "keyes"), and spacing between the keyes. Weaver mounts have fewer keys that are smaller, while the Picatinny rails have the regular peak/trough pattern as seen here. This picture should be changed to show an actual real Weaver rail to improve clarity and to avoid perpetuating false information.
