This map should be deleted due to simple errors. Turkey was neutral until the end of Feb 1945. Vichy France is shown as an Allied power. there may be more. Remove, or correct.

Corsica

[edit]

My geography's a little hazy, but shouldn't Corsica be green as a part of Vichy France? --Regards, Necessary Evil (talk) 18:38, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, Rhodes (Greek island) with surrounding smaller islands, was belonging to Italy since 1912 and should be orange. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.184.203.198 (talk) 15:19, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adressing of Problems

[edit]

Turkey did indeed remain neutral until February 1945. Since it entered the war on the Allies' side after December 1941 (Which is used as a cut off mark), it is shown in light green. The same praxis is used for other post-Dec 1941 Allied countries including Brazil etc. in other maps. Vichy France was corrected as an Axis power.

Corsica was part of France before the fall of that country in 1940. However it was occupied by Italian armies in late 1940; while notionally still part of France, it was under Italian control - as were the Dodecanese (error amended). Reuv (talk) 07:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
