Shades of Green Logo Trademark and Copyright Issues

There is currently a U.S. federal law which strictly prohibits any United States government agencies or departments from registering and/or holding the rights to a copyright or trademark and legally speaking the Department of the Army is considered a U.S. Government department under the Department of Defense and therefore their trademarks for Shades of Green 1938593 and 1951992 are legally invalid and therefore its use on Wikipedia is a non-issue.
