Seriously, who can play Ab above the treble clef? even with trick fingerings, a high note bocal, and biting the reed, G is the only plausible note up there.

A or A-flat at the top?

[edit]

Some versions of this image, including the one I currently see on Bassoon show an A at the top, not A. @Jeremy Visser: - any ideas why that is? Tayste (edits) 08:30, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I can reproduce the issue. This link has the flat:
But this link is missing the flat:
If I download the SVG itself and render it locally, I always get it without the flat, and if I download the previous revision, I always get the flat. Given the SVG hasn't been modified since 2009 this is surprisingly long-standing for a caching issue. I suspect the fix will be to re-upload a new SVG of whatever we need the correct note to be.
At this point we need to decide what the correct note to display is.
What is the range actually supposed to be? Both A and A-flat are pretty extreme to me, but as I'm not a professional player I'm not equipped to make a judgement call there. — Jeremy 02:03, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
